The Necks are one of these special bands, when it comes to creating intense moods and stretching atmospheres to infinity, they take their time and transport the moment into another sphere. Musically, one of the most intense live experiences imaginable, especially if one seeks contemplation and reflection. Where else but in a special church could such a concert take place? The Necks are one of Australia’s great cult bands.

Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure up a chemistry that defies orthodox description. With their long pieces, which develop slowly and in a highly fascinating way and are often carried by a haunting, deep groove, The Necks’ eighteen albums stand up to repeated listening. The deceptive simplicity of their music reveals new charms with each listen. The Necks’ music is neither avant-garde, minimalist, ambient, nor jazz, but possibly unique in the world. The Los Angeles Times called them “a troupe of magicians masquerading as a piano trio.”

Hey! We are returning to the most beautiful and empty parkdeck im town with Portland based Ann Annie! Come and fly with the Pegasus!

ann annie (Trio) - live

ann annie is the stage name for Portland based composer Eli Goldberg. The project began as a way for Eli to explore the world of modular synths and ambient music. As the project grew and took form, he slowly introduced various acoustic instruments into his compositions – most notably in their recent album ‘the wind’. This new sound combines aspects of classical orchestras with string and horn instruments, old country guitar twang and that original electronic modulation to form something wholly unique. Their live show consists of a Trio playing piano, clarinet lap steel guitar, saxophone, trumpet and modular synth performing dreamy, sometimes improvisational chamber music mostly from the new record.
